 It’s A New Year

*Although we wrote this post together, we have chosen to present the following through Mom’s eyes.

As we enter a new year, many people may feel haunted by the past.

People tend to look at things that they didn’t accomplish in years past which can bring stress and anxiety for the coming year.

I know firsthand through my daughter how true this is and how difficult this time can be.

Due to an inappropriate medical treatment program, my daughter lost many years of her life. Now she struggles to catch up to a place she feels she needs to be.

Not only does the new year bring this anxiety to her, but also every birthday and holiday brings additional sadness.

Many others feel the same way as my daughter. The realization of time lost and cannot be brought back can become extremely stressful.

The key here is to look at the present as beginning new and not focus on the past.

Yes, it is a difficult concept, but one that truly needs to be done to move forward in life.

To be able to accomplish those dreams and goals that were put on hold for some time.

Life may be a challenge at times. Always remember, that even if you may go back a little it just takes little steps forward to get there.

From our home to yours, wishing you all a happy holiday and a great new year!
