Symptoms of a Drug Prescription

Symptoms of a Drug Prescription

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Nikki and my mom is Anne.

We are a daughter and mother self-awareness writing team.

We started writing to provide straight forward information needed to make an informed medical decision. “Nikki’s Story” is based on true facts from years of notes and journals about my journey through prescription drugs.

My story began in 2010, during my first year of college when I desperately reached out for help with my depression.  With no blood test nor any other type of testing done, the health care provider stated “I had a chemical imbalance causing my depression.” It was at this time I was prescribed my first drug.

After seven years, nineteen drugs, two supplements, four doctors, one nurse practioner, and all the false hope I was given, I decided to take charge of my own life.

We've developed this site to help you...

  • Learn the importance of your self-awareness
  • Recognize warning signs in your treatment plan
  • Develop a self-help plan so you can obtain your goal
  • Discover the necessary information needed
  • Live a happy and healthier lifestyle

“The important thing is not to stop questioning.

Curiosity has its own reason for existence.”

Albert Einstein

How did I take charge?

  1. Allowing myself to be me
  2. Recognizing I don’t have to be fixed to live a happy and healthy life
  3. Knowing that one treatment doesn’t work for everyone
  4. Being aware that self-care is a life time commitment, but doesn’t have to be life consuming
  5. Learning that no self-help program works all the time
  6. Question, research, analize!

About us…

Let’s start off about me, Nikki….

I love all animals. I grew up always with a dog, a hamster, a guinea pig, fish, and now I have an adorable holland lop rabbit. And for a small fuzz bucket, he is a lot of work.

I rode horses most of my life and actually owned a rescue for many years. That’s another story for another time.

And I am a runner. Not that I necessarily enjoy it, but sometimes it just helps me to clear my head.

During my years of struggling while on prescription drugs, I somehow managed to obtain a degree in Psychology, as well as, working in the field.

Even though my life path changed after withdrawing from drugs, I do attribute my education and work experience in the psychology field as helping me towards my correct path for both wellness and life.

I finally feel the path I am on now is the right one for me. Focusing on building my career as a writer and artist, I love creating new pieces of fine art illustrations to go along with my writing.

Utilizing my art skills along with my college education in both teaching and psychology, I run a successful art workshop business providing therapeutic help.

Symptoms of a Drug Prescription was created with my mom, because we believe telling my journey through our stories is important.

Before Symptoms of a Drug Prescription came about, I co-wrote a self-help book with my mom. After years of research and writing, our book is finally getting closer to a publishing date. I can’t wait to give you more details.,

So now a little bit about Anne…

I am Nikki’s mom.

I also love animals, but I never learned how to ride a horse. Nikki’s thing, not mine.

I don’t run, but I love to take a nice scenic walk.

Pretty much, Nikki and I are opposites even though we do have a lot in common.

After years of watching my daughter suffer through an inaccurate health care treatment program, I now focus on helping Nikki move forward in her life as well as moving forward in my own.

Being recently retired from my real estate business, I have the time to help Nikki with the administrative aspects of her art business.

And for my own self peace, I currently work outside the home providing insightful individual organizational services.

Creating this website has been both challenging and rewarding for me. At sixty-three learning the ins and outs of social media, website building, etc. has been a difficult challenge for me to say the least. But when I think about all the people out there going through what my daughter, Nikki, went through, that’s what keeps me pushing to get it done.

I too am looking forward to sharing more of our journey and many tips in our upcoming book. It’s getting exciting now that the publishing date is getting closer.

We will keep you posted–promise!

Our goal always is to help you lead a happy and healthier lifestyle.

We offer truthful information, to help you…
